Arch Echo, they won´t exactly tear up the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart with their technical and non-mainstream music but they sure will get special treatment at my house with my full attention because I loved their latest effort “You won´t believe what happens next” (2019), so I had to check out their first self-titled album from 2017 as well. And it´s a brilliant fusion-oriented progmetal album from start to finish, all instrumental so stay away if you want to singalong to radio-ready choruses.

Let me tell you a bit about the bandmembers, keyboardist Joey Izzo composes for television and has had his music on FOX and NBC. Guitarist Adam Rafowitz won the first Strandberg Guitarworks competition. Guitarist Adam Bentley works full time as a mix engineer and producer. Drummer Richie Martinez has performed a profusion of genres from hip-hop in the mid-west to hard rock shows in Central America. Bassist Joe Calderone has an aggressive rock finger style and is influenced by Tchaikovsky and Rush.

These guys makes the supertight unit of Arch Echo and even if you don´t want to listen to the entire album, just take a moment and let the amazing track “Color wheel” make time stand still for a while. Real instruments, real musicians, it can´t get any better than this.
